Bio: A graduate of the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (National School of Bridges and Roads), Damien Violeau is a senior researcher in the R&D department of EDF, one of the world's largest energy companies. He is also a professor at the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and teaches at the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay. His research interests include fluid turbulence, free-surface wave dynamics, porous media, and the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) numerical method. The International Association for Hydro-Environmental Research and Engineering (IAHR) awarded him the Arthur T. Ippen Prize in 2015.

Dr. Shadloo is a leading researcher in fluid mechanics and CFD, serving as Deputy Director of CORIA/CNRS and Full Professor at INSA Rouen, France. An Institut Universitaire de France Laureate, his work focuses on turbulence, electrohydrodynamics, and AI in fluid dynamics. With over 9,000 citations (h-index 57), he ranks among the top mechanical and aerospace scientists in France and worldwide. He earned his PhD from Sabanci University and habilitation from the University of Rouen. His research spans fundamental and applied fluid dynamics, including a patented electrohydrodynamic separation system. He has led international projects exceeding €3M and collaborated with institutions such as Stanford and Imperial College London. He has supervised over 60 trainees, including 12 PhDs, and teaches CFD, heat transfer, and turbulence globally. Recognitions include the Humboldt Fellowship and Stanford’s top 2% scientists list. He has published over 120 ISI-indexed papers in journals like Journal of Fluid Mechanics and Physics of Fluids, bridging theory with industrial applications in energy and sustainability.

Sebastian studied Physical Engineering Science at TU Berlin graduating in 2006. After completing his PhD in physics from TU Berlin and the Fritz Haber Institute in 2010, his next station was TU Munich conducting postdoctoral research in theoretical chemistry. In 2014, he became a group leader at the Institute for Mathematics of the FU Berlin. Since 2021, he is back at the Fritz Haber Institute as a group leader at the Theory Department. Sebastian's research concentrates on developing novel mathematical and scientific computing approaches for chemistry and chemical engineering with a focus on multiscale modeling and heterogeneous catalysis.

Brief Biography: Dr Suvash C. Saha is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering in the School of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where he leads the Computational Biofluid & Heat Transfer (CBHT) Lab. His research sits at the intersection of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), biofluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, and phase-change materials, with a strong focus on respiratory and cardiovascular flows, mucociliary clearance, and micro-/nanoplastic transport in the lung. Dr Saha has authored over 350 refereed publications, including more than 240 journal articles, over 80 conference papers and several book chapters, and has been repeatedly listed among the world’s top 2% scientists (Stanford ranking). He works extensively with multiphase CFD, FVM/FEM, LBM and FSI methods, and increasingly with data-driven and physics-informed approaches (PINNs) for complex biological and thermo-fluid systems. He is active in international collaborations spanning Australia, Europe and Asia, and serves as guest editor for several special issues on heat transfer, particle transport and building/indoor flows in journals such as Atmosphere and related MDPI titles. Dr Saha’s work is characterised by mechanistic modelling tightly linked to real-world problems, from artificial cilia for lung clearance to hydrogen supply chains, with a consistent emphasis on translational impact and mentoring the next generation of researchers.
